The Division of Air Quality (DAQ), a division of the Department of Environmental Quality’s (DEQ), implemented an unprecedented public involvement process for the development of the PM2.5 State Implementation Plan (SIP), meeting with over one hundred participants from counties that are not meeting EPA PM2.5 standards. These stakeholders formed working groups tasked with recommending emission control strategies to reduce PM2.5 levels. These recommendations formed the basis for recent DAQ rule making. The DAQ will continue to work on additional reductions and welcomes public input into the process.
The Utah Clean Air Partnership (UCAIR) works with many organizations to improve air quality in Utah. If you would like to become more involved with any of UCAIR’s clean air partners, let them know.
