Ivory Homes Announces Initiative to Plant 30,000 Trees in Utah

Ivory Homes, announced yesterday in conjunction with the celebration of Earth Day 2018, the planting of 30,000 trees throughout Utah to celebrate 30 years of excellence as Utah’s number one homebuilder. The initiative will include partnerships with TreeUtah, the Utah Clean Air Partnership (UCAIR), groups of Ivory homeowners and citizens throughout the state to enhance Utah’s already spectacular natural beauty.

“We have deep roots in Utah, and we’re excited to announce that we are planting 30,000 trees in appreciation for Utahns who have helped us with 30-years as Utah’s number one homebuilder,” said Clark Ivory, CEO of Ivory Homes. “As Utah continues to grow, Ivory Homes stands ready to grow and change as well. We love Utah and our beloved communities, and this effort will allow us to give back to our state and continue to make neighborhoods statewide as green as our homes.”

Ivory Homes would like to invite Utahns, other corporate partners and communities from across the state to submit ideas and proposals for significant planting projects and locations at www.ivorygreen.com. In total, 20,000 trees will be gifted to the community at large with an additional 10,000 trees planted in new and existing Ivory Homes’ communities. The first significant community planting will take place this October with approximately 1,500 trees. This will be in addition to the more than 1,000 trees that will be planted this year in Ivory Homes’ communities.

“TreeUtah is thrilled to partner with Utah’s number one homebuilder, UCAIR and citizens throughout the state to improve Utah’s quality of life for present and future generations by enhancing the environment through tree planting, stewardship, and education,” TreeUtah executive director Amy May, said. “Ivory Homes is making a significant commitment to our state that will bring beauty, clean air, and shade to our communities for years to come.”

The 30,000-tree initiative is part of the extensive efforts Ivory Homes is making to be an eco-friendly and more sustainable builder. Ivory Homes was recently selected to receive the “Your Utah, Your Future” award by Envision Utah for striving to reduce emissions produced by residential living. As Utah’s number one homebuilder, Ivory Homes brings sustainability, quality and design to every home and community the company builds. Each Ivory neighborhood is carefully planned and developed while every home is constructed with sustainability in mind. The Average Ivory Homes HERS* score is 60, while a typical resale home over ten years old scores upwards to 130 points. This difference could save new Ivory Homeowners up to $1200 in utility expenses over the course of a year.

“In our efforts to clean the air there are no perfect answers, but there are practical solutions,” UCAIR executive director Thom Carter said.  “Ivory Homes has been working hard to build a cleaner community for years, providing practical solutions for home buyers for thirty years. This partnership between Ivory Homes, TreeUtah, UCAIR and citizens throughout our state shows Ivory’s continued commitment to finding new and exciting solutions for all of us and enhancing air quality for the entire region through planting 30,000 trees.”

Ivory Homes has been growing and changing with Utah for over 50 years. This includes the completion of more than 22,000 new homes and apartments and decades of street tree planting. This dedication to a single market reflects a unique commitment to the state of Utah and has led some to call Ivory Homes the nation’s number one local homebuilder for new home construction. Ivory Homes’ initiative to plant over 30,000 trees will take place across the state with future projects and partnerships that will significantly enhance the quality of life for all Utahns.
